Celine Gajnik-Kinnoo
ThreatQuotient – Global Marketing Director
Where do you work?
ThreatQuotient
How long have you worked here?
I have been at ThreatQuotient for more than 6 years.
What do you enjoy most about your job and company?
Working with different teams across the globe, which help me to learn different markets and needs as well as culture. Working with other areas of Marketing and trying to find the right strategy and tactics to put in place while knowing more people. I am very “social”, and I love meeting people.
How did you get into cybersecurity?
I started to work for a French VAD in 2005, which is where I started to learn about Cybersecurity, sales, and marketing. Prior to that I was working in a sports shop, so no link at all.
What are your hopes for women in cybersecurity in the future?
Well, why I love this campaign, my hope would be to not having the need to do special campaigns, conference, article to explain the value of women in Cybersecurity. As it would mean the place of women would not be a minority in our industry anymore.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #EmbraceEquity. What does that mean to you?
As I am french, Equity can have two meanings for us, maybe for English speakers too :). Equity in the way of “Egalité” that means united and fair. There is equality between two people, when they share the same state in a way, which is what we all want, and talk more about when we speak about Women in Cyber, and Women in general from a society perspective. This is our objectives today, but not only from legal perspective. That’s where the second meaning in french complete the one of “Egalité” and it is “Equité” which is a feeling of justice, whether legal or not. Such a feeling is born of common sense and is independent of the rules or laws in force. I think that is where we are on the path to the objectives. I hope we will all embrace the path to equity so both definition become on, from a spirit perspective as well as legal one.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Well, I had lots of dreams, but it was a mix of Actress, Princess and Commanding officer 🙂 I think I achieved the three of them 🙂
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
“If that’s your choice, embrace it and go ahead.”
– Cyrille Badeau
What notable woman in history do you relate to and why?
Simone Veil, she was the first woman president of the European Parliament, and she was also the Minister of Health in France who made the abortion legal in France. Millions of women in France can thank her for this choice. We are now allowed to make the choice we want and need for our life and thanks to her, certainly lots of women’s lives were saved. She was also a survivor from Auschwitz. This woman is what “Embrace Equity” means.
